Last Stand, Day 2: Deciding on Art and Concept


I've decided the game takes place in a kingdom, and you are set to defend it against an evil lord. It's very stereotypical, but I've also decided I want this to stylistically feel like a retro turn-based RPG from the NES/SNES era. 

The UI, art, and sound will all be retro as well. I've found a free CSS style that has the retro early game feel, and I've started working on some of the art. The art will be created using cutpaper, but will then be photographed and exported on very low settings; both to create pixelation, but also to reduce colors too. Many early games were on systems that supported few colors, and I want to include this as part of the feel.

I've already started creating a bit of a mess to facilitate art creation.
